All wet

Today is yet another rainy day. Which allows me to segway right into another wet topic, the mississippi river. In today’s edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is an interesting article on a project called the Miss Rockaway Armanda, a raft built recycled from trash and powered on vegetable oil with a crew of artists and performers. They started in Minneapolis and are headed to New Orleans.Talk about a fun time. Oh yeah, they too have a blog.

Rainy days and Mondays

It started with the anniversay of Hurricane Katrina, then came Hurricane’s Henriette (to the west) and Hurricane Felix (on the east) and add in the fact that I’m reading the book Windsept: The Story of Wind and Weather by Marq De Villiers and this has been quite a week for weather.

On the flip side of winds and clouds and rain, I just came across an article about suncreen, on the website for the Environmental Working Group . Amazingly, it comes from my home town newspaper, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. It’s entitled “The FDA Proposes a Four-Star Rating System for Sunscreens”.
