Body Shop

On a sad note, I wanted to make note of the passing of two people that made an impression on me in the environmental movement. The first, was Anita Roddick, the found of the Body Shop. She was one of the leaders in the world of environmentally-friendly business. I was working in retail when she first came to America back in the 1980’s.

The other person I would like to make note of is professor Paul Nelson. He taught geology, earth and physical science and mathematics at Meramec Community College in Kirkwood Missouri. During my MoPIRG (Missouri Public Interest Research Group) organizing days,  he allowed me to make my five minute “speech” to his students.  He was a dedicated environmentalist  and I also had the pleasure of being a student in one of his earth science classes.
