List, what list?

Here are a couple of more articles on some animals, though they are not listed as endangered, probably need to be. It appears that the Bush Administration will miss the deadline for listing the Polar Bear under the Endangered Species Act . Also, the National Fisheries Services will not list the Atlantic Whie Marlin as endangered or threatened. Both articles can be found at the Environmental News Network website.

There was a nice article awhile back (in the New York Times) about the Atlantic Piping Plover, a bird that has been on the endangered species list for nearly twenty years and a recent success story in it’s recovery.

The article remined me the organization, Cornell Lab of Ornithology and their Project Feederwatch. Every year, thousands of volunteers watch and record the birds they see at their birdfeeder. For more information on it, check out their website.
