Couple of local stories

Today, Missouri is making the headlines on the subject of green. First, there is this story from Ecospace entitled ” Volunteerism at Table Rock Lake” by Gopala.

The second story is how the state is trying to not allow farmers to label their milk (though it does seem to exempt current organic farmers), such as stating they don’t use ecombinant bovine growth hormone or rBGH. This article, over at The Daily Green, is “Missouri Milk Farmers” by Annie Bell Muzaurieta.

Speaking of family…

I thought I would post these two articles on families and toy safety. The first comes to us from GreenBiz, ” Toys ‘R’ Us Unveils New Line of Green Toys”.

The other article is regarding Washington State’s Governor, “Gregoire Signs Toy Safety Legislation” by Haley Edwards.

Earth Hour and family

We had a pretty successful Earth Hour at our house. I had my three kids and we turned off all the lights and played Candyland. Quite the fun night. I must confess however, we did have the television on (pbs of course) as my kids were really enjoying the pledge drive and Barry Manilow. Who knew?
