Worlds Oldest Tree

I saw this article the other day at Yahoo and as a lover of trees, just had to mention it. It’s entitled “Swedish Spruce May Be the Worlds Oldest Living Tree” by Niklas Pollard. Read it here.

This is a topic that’s long overdue. I just wanted to list a few articles on some of the topics that the EPA has covered lately. With the end of an administration that has typically been left standing on the environment, I guess they are trying to play catch up. That’s what I’m trying to do here as well.

The first one came from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch entitled “EPA Toughens Rules on Lead Paint Removal”.  Unfortunately, I can’t locate the link to this article but it was in the 4/1/08 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

This next article was in the USA Today entitled “EPA Announces Rules Aimed at Protecting Children, Wetlands” from the AP.

Next up on the EPA’s agenda, “EPA May Insist That Smog be Cleaner” by H. Josef Hebert from the AP. Again, this one has no link but it’s over at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from 3/6/08.

The last article is “Outspoken Scientist Dismissed from Panel on Chemical Safety” by Marla Cone at the LA Times.
