It’s never too late to get outside

Here’s a nice little article on a book I highly recommend, Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv. The article is called “Is There Concrete Evidence for the Health Benefits of Childhood Nature Play?” by Tobin Hack over at Plenty Magazine.

Mapping the deep sea

As a follow up to mapping species, we must leave no stone unturned. So check out “New Deep-Sea Reefs Found With Sonar” over at National Geographic.

While the weather outside is frightful

As I look outside and wonder when the freezing rain is suppose to come, my thoughts turn to weather.

First up is “Global Warming’s Effect on Precipitation Patterns Could Mean Even Bigger Change in Groundwater” by Matthew McDermott over at Treehugger.

Next we have “Global Warming Impacts on U.S. Coming Sooner Than Expected, Report Predicts” over at Science Daily.

Last, there is “2 trillion tons of ice melted in the arctic since 2003” from the AP at Green Change.

Despite all of this doom and gloom weather, nothing beats watching your kids reaction as they wake up to snow in the morning. We’ve had several opportunities in the last couple of weeks.

I’m dreaming of a white…
