Wendall Berry and Wes Jackson

As a fan of these two men, I knew I had to post this article “A 50-Year Farm Bill” over at the New York Times. That got me to digging up a few more good articles on gardening, one of my favorite topics.

First up, “Agriculture Needs a Fundamental ReThink in the 21st Century” by Matthew McDermott at Treehugger.

Let’s follow that with a real good article on gardening and local farmers from last year entitled “Real Food Makes a Comeback: You May Now Kiss Your Local Farmer” by William Dietrich at the Seattle Times.

Finally, here are two more nice articles (also from last year) on kids and gardening. They are “Farm-to-School Programs Grow Students’ Appreciation for Locally Grown Food” by Diane Raymond at the Organic Consumers Association  and “Bake Sales Fall Victim to Push for Healthier Foods” by Patricia Leigh Brown at the New York Times.

Enjoy!
