Now that the helicopters are starting to land

Okay, so they’re not helicopters but they do land like them. For those of you who have silver maples (and we have three huge ones), it’s beginning to look a lot like…we’ll you understand. So in honor of trees everywhere, here are a few articles on trees.

The first two are  “UN: Financial Crisis Puts Pressure on World’s Forests” from the Environment News Service and “U.N. Agrees to Save the Forests…but How?” from Mother Nature Network. It’s nice to see that trees are on everyone’s mind these days.

And even as we see disheartening articles like “Amazon Deforestation: Earth’s Heart and Lungs Dismembered” by Matthew Cimitile at Live Science. We also see promising articles like “Tropical Rainforests Are Regrowing. Now What?” at the Environmental News Network and “New Jungles Prompt a Debate on Rain Forests” by Elisabeth Rosenthal at the New York Times.

Sincerely-

Green Librarian
