For most, summer is here

As the wildfire continues to spread across New Mexico and other parts of the southwest, we realize that summer is here.

Just like last year, it appears that Texas is headed towards another dry year as we see in this story, “Drought in California and Texas Threatens US Food Security” by Timon Singh at Inhabitat.

Meanwhile, here in the midwest some are calling it adrought” in this article “Missouri farmers battling ‘flash drought’” by Georgina Gustin at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Finally, lets not forget that the fire continues to rage on in New Mexico and as Philip Conners talked about in his book Fire Season: Fieldnotes from a Wilderness Lookout, we still have a lot to learn. This article over at Yahoo! today entitled “Record NM Blaze Studied for Forest Management” by Susan Montoya Bryan via the Associated Press only confirms that.

Sincerely-
