Bears over time

Okay, I’ll admit it, I had no idea what the word Permian meant when I came across this article but, now I know. According to dictionary.com website, it means the following:

Geology. noting or pertaining to a period of the Paleozoic Era occurring from about 230 million years ago and characterized by a profusion of amphibian species

With that, we have this article on bears in the Permian age entitled what else but “Bears in the Permian: Because biogeography happen” by Darren Naish over at the Scientific Americanblog Tetrapod Zoology. So there were bears in the Permian (or as my kids would say) or were there?

Sincerely-
