Hedgehogs

So as someone of Welsh descent and someone who thinks hedgehogs are cute, I was a little disappointed to read this article today entitled “What’s happening to all the hedgehogs in England and Wales?” by Melissa Breyer over at Treehugger. So to all my relatives over there, let’s pick it up a bit and help out those cute little hedgehogs.

Wales, dolphins and octopuses

So the first story here was actually how some octopuses came out of the ocean and started walking the beaches of the town of New Quay, Wales. Then this article came out in the New York Times about this town in Wales and their relationship to these ocean inhabitants including the octopuses, jelly fish and Portuguese man-of-war, along with dolphins.

The article is entitled “A Cliff-Edge Town Visited by Poets, Dophins – and Octopuses” by Rod Nordland over at the New York Times. There is also a link to the video of the octopuses walking the beach. I guess it doesn’t hurt that the town is in Wales, which is where my dad’s family is from.

Wales, tiny house style

When I came across this article I knew I had to post it. Wales is where my family comes from and recently I’ve been looking into a tiny house for my son. Anyway, the article is entitled “The slatest in tiny houses: a cabin in Wales by TRIAS” over at Treehugger. Talk about a view to wake up to in the morning.

Scotch-Irish & Welsh geological wonders

While my last name is Welsh, I’m also a little Scotch-Irish and so in honor of that tonight, I thought I would post this article entitled “In Photos: The UK’s Geologic Wonders” by Laura Geggel over at LiveScience. As I’ve said to my kids, one day we’ll make it over to Wales.
